360 State Street (abbreviated as 360 State) is the second-tallest building in New Haven, Connecticut, and the largest apartment building in the state.[2][3] The 338-foot (103 m) tall mixed-use modernist building, completed in 2010, includes 500 luxury apartments which sit on top of 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2) of retail space. Designated a "green" building by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), it is the first residential building in Connecticut to gain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum status and includes a rooftop garden[4] as well as a corner "pocket park" that may be developed as a day care center in the future.[5] A full-scale food co-op will occupy the building's ground floor.[6] 360 State was built on the site where Shartenberg's Department Store stood from 1915 to 1962.[7]
