3CR can also stand for 3 Colours Red, a hard rock band, BBC Three Counties Radio, a local radio station in England, and the Third Cambridge Catalogue of Radio Sources used in astronomy.

3CR is a community radio station that broadcasts on the AM band in Melbourne, Australia. The Community Radio Federation had their broadcasting licence approved on 10 October 1975, by the Minister for the Media, Dr Moss Cass. Test broadcasting begun on 1 May 1976, full operation began 3 July 1976 from studios in High Street, Armadale. The station was Melbourne's first such community radio station to obtain a licence.

Today, 3CR broadcasts over 130 programmes by a variety community and political groups, as well as some music programming, presented by over 400 volunteer programmers. The radio station is located in Smith Street, Fitzroy. Initially broadcast on 837 kHz, 3CR now broadcasts on 855 kHz at 2 kW into a directional aerial, from a site at Hoppers Crossing about 15 km west of Melbourne.

The station has the funds and is committed to switching to digital as of 2010, though it is not known exactly when this will occur.
