42d Expeditionary Airlift Squadron

The 42d Expeditionary Airlift Squadron (42 EAS) is on provisional status in the United States Air Forces in Europe at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The 42d transported personnel and supplies to the Aleutian Islands from, May 1942-February 1944. Following its combat assignment the squadron served as a replacement training unit and participated in maneuvers from, March-April 1944.^[1]

It was reformed in 2008, reporting to Seventeenth Air Force, to fly missions relating to Africa.
