The 47th Grammy Awards were held on February 13, 2005 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. They were hosted by Queen Latifah (this was the last year-to-date the show has had a host), and televised in the United States by CBS. They recognized accomplishments by musicians from the previous year. Musician Ray Charles won personal 5 Grammys while his record, Genius Loves Company, won a total of 8. Alicia Keys won 4 awards, all in the R&B field and Prince consolidated his comeback with 2 awards in the R&B fields.
