The initiated Sikh is asked by the Panj Piare during the Amrit Sanchar ceremony to recite the following five banis every morning as a commitment to the Sikh Gurus and Waheguru.
The Five Banis are: Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Rehras, sohila and Amrit Savaiye—these banis are usually recited daily by all devoted Sikhs in the early morning.
The section below list various Banis which are recited by devote Sikhs regularly. The most important Banis of the Sikhs are:
1. Japji Sahib, forms the beginning of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, which is regarded as the perpetual Guru of the Sikhs. This Bani was compiled by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism.
2. Jaap Sahib, forms the first part of the Dasam Granth, which is the second Holy Book of the Sikhs.
3. REHRAS This bani is part of Guru Granth Sahib.
4. SOHILA 5. Tav-Prasad Savaiye, A short prayer recited as part of the 5 Banis
