Demônios da Garoa figures in the 1994 edition of the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest active musical group in the world. Specialized in the samba paulistano (typical samba style developed in the city of São Paulo), the group recorded for the first time the biggest proponent of that style (Adoniran Barbosa) in 1951. From then on, they would record all songs composed by him in their extensive discography. In this album, commemorative of their 50 years of career, they bring four of Adoniran's biggest hits: "Tiro Ao Álvaro," "Trem Das Onze," "Saudosa Maloca," and "Samba Do Arnesto." The other songs are sambas, a toada, and a marcha rancho, covering hits by the group written by other composers. The album is worth the effort, even if it isn't the most representative of the truest style of the group; there is the addition of a dispensable keyboard, and the listener must overcome the disgusting shock of the opening track, a typical "pagodinho romântico." ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
