Plot

Troy Dexter is an accomplished guitarist who has played with such performers as Stephen Bishop and Tower of Power. On this video he teaches students to re-create the vibrant 1950s rockabilly sound. The video also explores the unique ways that such guitarists as Scotty Moore, Carl Perkins, Brian Setzer, Eddie Cochran, and Duane Eddy play the guitar. Among other skills taught are ways to play thirds and fifths, intervals, whole tone licks, chromatic lead-ins, horn stab riffs, chord raking, vibrato bar techniques, and bends. Troy also explains such devices as tremelo, echo, reverb, and distortion. Special chords and scales used by the best rockabilly guitarists are reviewed. ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
