Mathematics
There is a productive period in mathematics. Ionian philosophers follow Thales in developing deductive proofs, the Chinese introduce rod numerals, and the Indians develop a geometry based on stretching ropes (similar to an earlier Egyptian practice). See also 300 bce Mathematics.
