Transportation
For the last time, the canal begun by Pharaoh Necho about 1200 years earlier is restored to use, this time by the Arab general 'Amr ibn-al-'As. It is covered in sand for good sometime in the eighth century as later Arab rulers allow the entire canal system of Egypt to fill in, resulting in massive famine when there is no longer irrigation for Egypt's fields.
