Review

70s Greatest Rock Hits, Vol. 10: Hitchin' a Ride is a brief but enjoyable collection of soft-rock, pop-rock and folk-rock hits from the '70s. All of the songs are tied together by "road" themes -- which means "On the Road Again, " "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, " "Hot Rod Lincoln, " "Chevy Van, " "City of New Orleans" and "One Toke Over the Line" all have a reason to exist on the same disc. There are no real surprises here, but since the collection features the original hit versions at a budget price, it's not a bad bargain. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
