Review

As the title suggests, Rebound Records' 80's New Wave: New Wave Dance contains 11 popular new wave dance tunes, ranging from the familiar (the Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star," Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)," Bronski Beat's "Why," Robert Palmer's "Looking for Clues," ABC's "When Smokey Sings," Animotion's "Obsession," Men without Hats' "Safety Dance") to the relatively obscure (Passions' "I'm in Love with a German Film Star," Visage's "Fade to Grey," Peter Godwin's "Baby's in the Mountain," Blancmange's "Blind Vision"). It's this balance of material that makes this a very worthwhile budget-line collection. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
