8K Video Format is a digital video format standard. It is used as a master format for movies shot with digital cameras, or sometimes used for high quality master transfers from analog to digital.[1]
It has a resolution of 8192 × 4320 pixels, which is substantially higher than consumer high definition formats. For example, it has over 17 times the pixel count of 1080p (which is 1920 × 1080 pixels).
