9-11 Citizens Watch is a "citizen-led watchdog network established to support independent investigation, research and analysis into the attacks of September 11th and its political and economic aftermath."[1]

The group has monitored the 9/11 Commission since its inception and has released a commentary: "The 9/11 Omission Report."[2]

History

The Christian Science Monitor reported that: "In anticipation of the hearings, CitizensWatch launched ads in the Washington area newspapers calling for fuller disclosure. It reads: "We deserve full disclosure on 9/11: The families of 9/11 victims and Americans everywhere demand that George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Bill Clinton, and Al Gore testify publicly under oath to the 9/11 commission."[3]

  • August 30, 2004: 9/11 Citizens Watch co-sponsored a Zogby poll. The poll claims that "Half of New Yorkers Believe US Leaders Had Foreknowledge of Impending 9-11 Attacks and “Consciously Failed” To Act; 66% Call For New Probe of Unanswered Questions by Congress or New York’s Attorney General". It further quotes: "On September 9th and 11th, 911Truth.org will cosponsor two large successive inquiries in New York, a preliminary 9/11 Citizens Commission hearing and "Confronting the Evidence: 9/11 and the Search for Truth," a research-focused evidentiary forum. These inquiries will examine many of the 9/11 Commission-shunned questions and discuss preparation of a probable cause complaint demanding a grand jury and criminal investigation from the New York Attorney General. Possible charges range from criminal negligence and gross dereliction of duty to foreknowledge, complicity and subsequent obstruction of justice."[2]

Press Coverage

9/11 Citizens Watch has been mentioned in articles by the Washington Times[5], the New York Times[4], Scoop[6] and The Christian Science Monitor[3]. A letter from the group was published by From The Wilderness[7] and a news conference by the group was reported on by C-Span.[8] The group has also been listed as a resource for an episode of NOW, a PBS newsmagazine.[9]
