Persian scholar Al-Farabi (a.k.a. Alfarabicus) [b Wasij, near Faraābī (Turkistan), 870, d. Damascus, Syria, 950] flourishes, writing perhaps 117 books on logic, metaphysics, medicine, music, and fundamental principles in science.
