Mathematics
Abu'l Wafa al Buzjani (a.k.a. Abu'l-Wefa) [b. Buzjan (Iran), June 10, 940, d. Baghdad (Iraq), July 15, 998] introduces the tangent ratio to Arabic mathematics and further develops spherical trigonometry, basing his work more on Indian trigonometry than on Greek.
