It is not unusual, on old farmhouses, to see windows on an
angle. Typically, these occur when someone added an addition onto
an old farmhouse. The roofline of the addition is lower than the
roofline of the original house. There will now be a doorway between
a room in the original house and the addition, often where a window
used to be. However, the old room no longer has a window and is
very dark. Enterprising Vermonters would reuse the old window, on
an angle, parallel to the new roofline. This would accomplish two
things: Nothing would be wasted and the room would be lighter! This
