A Box of Their Best [4 LP]

Album Review: A Box of Their Best [4 LP]

Review

Combining three of their existing releases into one neat box set was something of a novelty way back in 1980, but ELO did it, none the less. Included here are the ELO albums A New World Record, Out of the Blue, and Discovery. To add incentive for fans to fork over the cash for this box set, ELO added a nifty little single disc titled "Doin' That Crazy Thing," which was billed under Jeff Lynne's name and not the band's. A Box of Their Best proved to be a foreshadow of things to come. ~ James Chrispell, All Music Guide
