Plot

Presented as a television courtroom drama, filmmaker Hila Peleg's mock trial was staged at a Madrid art fair on May of 2007, and opens by stating that a crime has been committed despite the fact that no evidence exists to back up that claim and there appears to be no victims who were affected by the presumed infraction. As the testimonies and cross-examinations get underway, the judge attempts to get to the bottom of the ever-elusive "crime against art." The event itself was inspired by a the mock trials carried out by artist André Breton in the 1920s and 30s. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
