If it wasn't for the analog synths that flow through the opening cut on A Difficult Future, one just might be convinced that it was a lost B-side from the Cure's Disintegration. Timeout Drawer is by no means looking for replication (there are no vocals to be found on their second record), but anyone who misses that shimmering ambience will appreciate the Chicago quartet's post-rock bliss. The organic instrumentation (percussion and guitar) melds wonderfully with the electronic (synthesizers and electronic piano), producing a warm, cosmic world of carefully constructed atmospherics. The band's subtle rock has been heard in the background of several television programs, and it's foreseeable that A Difficult Future will carry on that trend. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide
