The song was originally released by writer Carl Groszman in 1975 on Ringo Starr's record label, Ring O' Records and Starr decided to do a cover of it for his 1976 album Ringo's Rotogravure. Released in September 1976 in advance of the album, the single spent nine weeks on the Billboard charts, peaking at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of November 6, 1976.[1]
