Filmmakers Ron Rotem and David Ofek co-helm the documentary A Hebrew Lesson. The picture chronicles the day-to-day events in the lives of a number of students enrolled in a Hebrew-language immersion course in Israel, with a particularly strong emphasis on the experiences of Yoela, an Israeli immigrant taking the class. Ofek and Rotem use their relatively straightforward subject about the students as a springboard into a much deeper and more resonant exploration of the immigrant experience per se, and the idea that a classroom environment can function as the first step toward unfettered multiculturalism. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
