Acme Packaging is wrapped up in industrial packaging products. A division of Illinois Tool Works, it makes and distributes steel strapping and seals, manual and pneumatic strapping tools, sealless tools, and strapping machines used to secure heavy loads onto pallets for shipping. Other products include stretch film used to wrap pallets of boxed goods, metal packaging products, and plastic coil. Acme Packaging, which also has a tool loaning program, operates through some 1,500 distributors and four warehouses throughout the US. It was formed in 2004 when ITW Brands, ITW Gerrard Packaging, and three Acme companies (Acme Distributor Sales, Acme Packaging, and Acme Equipment Sales) were merged.
