Plot

This frothy comedy was a lightweight vehicle for minor silent star Wanda Hawley. She is Sheila Athlone, an artist. When author Brian Moore (T. Roy Barnes) asks her to illustrate his book, she refuses because she thinks the plot is ridiculous -- no self-respecting girl would ever deign to kiss a man only four hours after meeting him. So Moore sets out to prove her wrong. Complicating the issue is Robert Codman Ames, Sheila's passionless fiancé (Bertram Johns). Ames assigns amateur detective Bertie Ballast (Walter Hiers) to keep an eye on her, and they both pursue Sheila as she encounters a butcher who is really Moore in disguise. For three hours he tries to kiss her without success. When there's a gas explosion and he risks his life to save a child, she willingly kisses him -- with just a minute to spare. Needless to say, Ames is soon out of the picture. At the fadeout, Sheila and Moore are together. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
