Two of trumpeter Maynard Ferguson's best-ever albums are combined on this double LP; all of the music has since been reissued on Mosaic's massive Complete Maynard Ferguson on Roulette CD box set. Slide Hampton, Willie Maiden and Don Sebesky contributed most of the colorful arrangements and there are strong solos from Ferguson (on trumpet, valve trombone and baritone horn), trombonist Hampton, altoist Jimmy Ford, Carmen Leggio, Maiden and Joe Farrell on tenors and pianist Jaki Byard among others.
