Review

Jenny Mae presents piano-led pop that hearkens back to '70s song values in a way that is more lyrical and sublime than, say, Ben Folds Five. Mae pays homage to ELO in her packaging, and her work makes her out to be more of a studiophile than her gregarious labelmates Multiple Cat. Mae herself lends the girl pop vocals and keys to the three near-Portishead songs captured here. Jenny Mae's EP is warm, varied, and deliciously sweet. ~ Tom Schulte, Rovi
