Plot

This one-reel comedy from Vim was the first official film of the Plump and Runt series featuring big Oliver Hardy and puny Billy Ruge. Sometimes Plump and Runt were pals, but just as often they were adversaries, as they were in this particular entry. Plump's wife has gone into labor, which sends him into a panic. As he frantically hunts for a doctor, he runs afoul of Runt, who has been in search of a burglar. Runt believes Plump is the crook and tries to arrest him, but Plump gets away and heads for the hospital. His behavior is still so panicked that the suspicious staff has him arrested. Finally, Plump is able to convince the police chief to let him go, and he heads home in the company of a doctor and nurse. Plump's special delivery is triplets. A decade after the Plump and Runt series, Hardy would become half of a team once again, this time with Stan Laurel. ~ Janiss Garza, Rovi
