Here, "the Buffetiers" perform a cross-section of Jimmy Buffett favorites with lighthearted gusto. Sure, they aren't Jimmy Buffett, or his Coral Reefers. But neither are you and your buddies after 14 Coronas. Replace the air guitars with real instruments and build a tequila bar around it, and that's all Tribute to Jimmy Buffett is -- a better version of what the man's fun-loving fans do on most summer weekends. The anthems "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Fins" are the appropriate mix of easygoing and rocking. But "the Buffetiers" also handle this tribute's balladic midsection quite ably. "Son of a Son of a Sailor" and "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" are particularly well done. The band closes strong with version of "Why Don't We Get Drunk" that amplifies the original's honky tonk feel. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
