The A145 is a road that connects the town of Beccles in Suffolk to the South.

The entire route is a standard A road classification and although not particularly long it does provide a useful route onto the main A12 to Ipswich.

Route description

Beccles

The road starts at a roundabout with the A146, Norwich to Lowestoft road. The roundabout also has a junction for the council recycling and waste centre. Travelling south the route first passes a large Morrisons supermarket and then Beccles railway station on your left before turning right at a mini roundabout towards the town centre. Passing through the town centre gives access to facilities such as banking, post office etc. The road then turns southwards again and remains on this course for the remainder of the route.

Rural

The route then takes in some Suffolk countryside and passes through the villages of Weston, Willingham St Mary, Shadingfield and Brampton and close to Uggeshall and Sotherton.

Bulcamp and Bythburgh

Towards the end of its route the road passes a couple of points of interest.

Henham

The Henham Estate is home to the annual Latitude Festival.

Bulcamp

Just before the road joins with the A12 on the left is the Bulcamp Oddity.
