The A565 is a road in England that runs from Liverpool in Merseyside to Tarleton in Lancashire. It is a primary route linking the town of Southport to Liverpool and to Preston (via the connecting A59).
It starts off on Old Hall St, Liverpool, near Princes Dock, crossing a number of traffic lights and running parallel with Regent Road. It then passes Seaforth Dock at the Seaforth flyover, where it meets the A5036. It then heads north through Crosby and on through the Liverpool suburb of Thornton. It then heads towards Formby, passing Ince Blundell on the way, and passes to the east of Formby. Once out of Formby, the road passes RAF Woodvale before arriving in Woodvale itself, going very close to the route of the Trans Pennine Trail. The A565 continues north through Ainsdale into Southport, past the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
Once it reaches Southport it runs through as Lord Street and then travels to the south of Banks. It passes by Mere Brow and Holmes before going by Tarleton, where it joins the Preston-to-Liverpool A59 at traffic lights.
