Aaron Duane Olson (born May 11, 1978 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada [1]) is a former professional basketball player who played for the New Zealand Breakers in the Australasian National Basketball League. He primarily played the shooting guard position.

Born to a New Zealander mother and a Canadian father, Olson lived in New Zealand from the ages of 4-10 when he moved back to Canada.[2]

Olson attended college at the University of Victoria before switching to Eastern Washington University in 1999. Olson qualifies to play for the New Zealand national team, the Tall Blacks, by virtue of the fact that his mother is a New Zealander. He has represented the Tall Blacks from 2003-2006.

Olson has played for the New Zealand Breakers since their inception into the Australasian National Basketball League in 2003-04. In the 2004-2005 season Olson registered a career high, scoring 40 points in a loss to the Townsville Crocodiles in Auckland. Olson originally played for the Harbour Heat in the New Zealand National Basketball League, before moving across town to the Auckland Stars where he played until 2005.

Olson retired from basketball in 2007, citing loss of interest in the game.
