Abbaretz (Abarrez in Breton) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. It lies 50 km north of Nantes and 80 km south of Rennes.

The surrounding communes are Nozay, Puceul, Saffré, Joué-sur-Erdre, La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne, Issé and Treffieux.

Places and monuments

Site of the pewter mine. The area was known for its tin production into the 1960s but it has been converted to recreational purposes.

The lake that was produced from tin extraction is used for water skiing while the slag heap provides a scenic view and para-sailing opportunities.
