Plot

The 1992 Presidential debates were historic for their involvement of third party candidate Ross Perot. With George Bush and Bill Clinton representing the Republican and Democratic parties respectively, Perot claimed a spot for independent voters. ABC News Nightline: 1992 Presidential Debates Highlights documents the informative and often entertaining round of public debates for both the Presidential and Vice Presidential positions. Bush was supportive of a third party candidate, hoping Perot's success would diminish Clinton's. The results were exactly the opposite, however, as the Arkansas governor swept election night. The running mates held their own three-way discussions featuring Al Gore, Dan Quayle, and Jim Stockdale. The program is hosted by Jeff Greenfield and includes moderators Hal Bruno, Jim Lehrer, and Carol Simpson. ~ Sarah Ing, Rovi
