Plot

Part of the ABC News Nightline series, which features favorite episodes from anchorman Ted Koppel's award-winning television news program, ABC News Nightline: Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster investigates the world's worst nuclear power accident. On April 25, 1986, in the former U.S.S.R., the Chernobyl nuclear power plant tested a reactor without performing all necessary safety procedures. The result: Several explosions and a deadly fireball of nuclear power blew the lid off the reactor, killing 30 people right away, and forcing thousands to evacuate. ~ Betsy Boyd, All Movie Guide
