Sheikh Abdelaziz bin Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Muhammed Al Thani, GCMG (born 12 December 1948 in Rayyan near Doha) is the first son of Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the 8th Emir of Qatar, and eldest child of the Emir and his 1st Lady, Sheikha Amna Bint Hassan Bin Abdulla Al-Thani. Sheikh Abdelaziz is an elder half-brother of Sheikh Hamad, the current Emir of Qatar.[1] He was an oil minister[2][3] and minister of finance[4] between 1972 and 1991.
