Biography

Upon their formation in 1996, the three-piece of Steve Merritt (guitar), Joe Cavanna (guitar/vocals/harp), and Tom O'Rourke (drums) have been otherwise known as Abdereen in heir native Brooklyn, NY. Accompanied by an inspiration of Kiss, Seaweed, and the Smithereens, the band packaged their hybrid of alternative metal in 1998 with their self-titled debut album. Released through their own Rock the World Records, Abdereen would eventually follow up with their second full-length Suburban. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
