Abul Hasan ibn Musa ibn Arfa Ra'a (d. 1197) was a famous Muslim alchemist, artisan and author from Baghdad. He is the author of Shudhur al-dhahab (The Gold Spangle), a renowned work dealing with theoretical and practical experiments in Medieval Chemistry.

He wrote about the properties of various metals and provided detailed information on glazed pottery and the various techniques, methods and processes of industrial chemistry of the time. He was highly inspired by Jabir ibn Hayyan and his students.[1]
