Biography

Abutre (or "Vulture," in their native Portuguese) was an obscure heavy metal band from São Paulo, Brazil featuring vocalist Wagner Giudice, guitarist Ricardo Giudice, bassist Thomas Paulo Catafay and drummer Adalberto Rosado, Jr. Formed in 1982 and fueled by the era's typical influences (part Bay Area thrash, part New Wave of British Heavy Metal), the group contributed two tracks to 1985's S.P. Metal II compilation (an important document of the thriving local scene) in hopes of landing a recording contract, but when this failed to transpire, they broke up without committing any further songs to posterity. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
