1940Accent. This eclectic literary magazine, published on the campus of the University of Illinois, makes its first appearance. Until its demise in 1960 it published fiction, poetry, and critical pieces by contributors such as Thomas Mann, Katherine Anne Porter, Kay Boyle, John Crowe Ransom, Wallace Stevens, and E. E. Cummings.
