Accor North America, a division of global hotel giant Accor, is a leading operator and franchisor of economy hotels, with more than 900 properties. Its flagship chain, Motel 6, caters primarily to vacationing families in the US and Canada with a limited menu of amenities. It also operates economy extended-stay lodging chain Studio 6 in the US and Canada, as well as the upscale Sofitel in the US and Canada, and mid-scale Novotel in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and four Ibis hotel locations in Mexico. The company sold its smaller Red Roof Inns chain in 2007 to focus on growing its Motel 6 holdings.
