Loss or absence of pigment in hair. It may be complete or patchy, affect the length of the fiber or be in well-defined bands or speckled. Can be caused by nutritional deficiency, selective freezing, radiation or pressure. See also vitiligo, copper nutritional deficiency, snowflakes.
