Company history

The company was founded in 1997 when Lesley Fromant set up a branch of parent company Acorn Media in the UK.

As of 2011, Acorn Media UK distribute products to DVD high street and online retailers it also publishes its own direct mail catalogues, which include both DVDs and gift items.

In 2009, Acorn Media was according to figures produced by the Official Charts Company shown to be one of the Top 5 fastest growing DVD companies in the UK.

In the most recent quarterly market share data for Quarter 2 in 2010, Acorn UK recorded their highest ever share of the UK market.
