Company history
The company was launched in 1997 when Lesley Fromant set up Acorn Media in the UK.
Acorn Media UK is one of the UK's leading independent DVD publishers specialising in TV product produced by a number of the UK's leading independent and major production companies. Not only does it distribute product to all the UK's DVD high street and online retailers it also punblishes its own direct mail catalogues with the best of best of british TV DVDs and a range of gift items.

Acorn sells a number of their titles in individual form as well as box sets or collections of various series. Many of the more popular titles that the company sell are the long running shows, one such example is Midsomer Murders which Acorn released the 13th set of earlier this year.[1] The company is also set to release the next series of shows after they are aired later this year. Acorn Media UK continue to seek new acquisitions and recent titles include George Gently.[2]
Acacia
The Acacia brand was launched by Acorn Media UK in 2006, incorporating healthy lifestyle titles and selling on the Acorn Website as well as in the Acorn Catalogue. The American branch of Acacia sell through its own Acacia catlogue as well. Areas typical to Acacia include Yoga, dance work-outs and instructional weight-loss DVD'. Acacia has been able to develop through specialist TV channels, websites and events[3]. The Acacia brand also incorporates the work of experts in respective fields such as Shiva Rea, Erin O'Brien and Joseph Campbell.
