acoustical ohm

acoustics. Symbol ac ohm. (Metric) A unit for the impedance to the flow of sound energy (e.g. by a constricting orifice); quantitatively the ratio of the average effective sound pressure (assuming harmonic quantities) to the volume velocity (i.e. area times speed orthogonally thereto) through it
[Frederick H. A. J. Acoust. Soc. Amer. Vol. 9, 60-71 (1937)] - a parallel of the electric ohm (but compare mechanical ohm
[Kennelly A. G., Cook J. H. J. Acoust. Soc. Amer. Vol. 9, 336-40 (1938)]). E.g.

Metric-m.k.s. Pa·(m2·m·s-1)-1 = N·m-2·(m-1·s1) = N·s·m-3 = m-2·kg·s-1,

Metric-c.g.s. dyn·cm-2·(cm2·cm·s-1)-1 = dyn·s·cm-3 = cm-2·g·s-1.
