When it is a player's turn to either, bet, check, raise, or fold. In most poker games the player table position and the dealer button dictate when it is a player turn to act. It it also considered poor etiquette to act out of turn.

SoundPoker Says: You are able to divulge tells by monitoring how a player acts with varying cards. For example, if you have noticed that John only raises when holding the near nuts, any time John raises you can suspect that he's holding a great hand and it might be smart to fold your mediocre hand.
