Acton Scott is a English village near Church Stretton in the south Shropshire hills. It lies in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and was registered as Actune in the Domesday Book.
It is most well know for the 30 acre Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, a Victorian living museum featured in the Victorian Farm BBC TV series. Visitors to the farm can take part in various workshops and courses on such activities a turning butter, hand-milking cows and herding live-stock. Many skills such as bodging, forging, pole-lathing, wheel and brick-making are demonstrated. The Acton family live on the 1500 acre estate and have worked it since the twelfth century.
