Adam Darr

Adam Darr (Schweinfurt, Germany, 1811 - Augsburg, Germany, 1866) was a German classical guitarist, singer, zitherer and composer.

Adam Darr began at the age of eighteen his musical activities in performance and travelled throughout Europe performing before royal courts. At the end of his tour in Russia, he remained in St. Petersburg, Russia to teach and perform and after three years returned to a position in Wurzburg. At this time he teamed-up with Frederick Brand and began a relationship as a guitar duet performing throughout Germany until his death. He composed a several pieces for guitar and a method for zithar. exist a publications of his music duets for guitars numbered from I to XII, afre (sicsic) two appear as XIV-a and XIV-b but no the XIII. Probably this situatuion is because the erroneous numbering of the works not prepared for edition. Before this duet edition no more edition of the Adam Darr music was printed.
