(pathology) A renal function test which estimates the blood cell count in a 12-hour urine specimen.

The number of red blood cells, white blood cells, and casts in a twelve-hour urine specimen, used to follow the progress of kidney disease.

 

The determination of the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, epithelial cells, casts, and the protein content in an aliquot of a 12-hour urine specimen. Used in the diagnosis and management of kidney disease. Not commonly used in veterinary medicine.
