This article is about a village. Adeney may also refer to missionary David Howard Adeney or flautist Richard Adeney.
Coordinates: 52°45′48″N 2°26′18″W / 52.76333°N 2.43833°W Adeney is a hamlet in the English county of Shropshire, in the civil parish of Edgmond.
Its name was formerly also spelt Adney, and derives from an Old English name meaning "Eadwynne's island".[1] It lies in an area of the Weald Moors known as the "Birch Moors"; the closest villages are Edgmond, to the east, and Tibberton, to the north-west.
