symbol: AdoP[CH2]P or p[CH2]pA; the recommended name for α,β-methyleneadenosine 5′-diphosphate (abbr.: ADP[α,β-CH2]); 5′-adenylyl methylenephosphonate (abbr.: AMP-CP); adenosine (5′→O1)-1,2-μ-methylenediphosphate; a synthetic analogue of adenosine 5′-diphosphate, ADP, in which the oxy group between the latter's two phosphorus atoms is replaced by a methylene group. It inhibits 5′-nucleotidase obtained from rat-heart membranes.
