Buddhism Dictionary: adhiprajñā

(Sanskrit; Pāli, adhipaññā). Literally, ‘higher understanding’. The doctrinal training undertaken by those following the Eightfold Path. It relates particularly to the third of the three divisions of the Path, namely insight (prajñā). See also adhicitta; adhiśīla.
