Adi Tekelezan (in Tigrinya, Ad Tekelezan in Tigre and Arabic) is a small town in the Anseba region of Eritrea. It is located on the route between Asmara and Keren. It is a thriving commercial center in Eritrea with a population estimated at 4,000.
The true history is that at the beginning the Natives of this area were two brothers, Ato TESFU and Ato SARDUY. These two brothers were from the race of BARGELE. The main race of BARGELE are now in ADI-ABETTO and KUAZEN. The Lord TEKELEZAN is the son of TEAWQE and the Lord TEAUQE is the son of SEMERETZION. SEMERETZION is the son of LORD DENBEZAN. The LORD DENBEZAN before he came to that area was living in the town of AMETZI. The Town of AMETZI is the Town in the District of DENBEZAN. Ato SARDUY has conflict with his brother Ato-TESFU. Finally Ato-Sarduy went to AMETZI and invited the Lord Tekelezan to guard him from his brother and live with same right as SARDUY and TESFU ((ENDA-BARGELE)in that area. Finally the Lord Tekelezan left the Town of AMETZI with his son SERAWIT-SEGED and three races (ENDA-LAGUEN;ENDA-ZAWUL; ENDA-WEQRI and ENDA-GURETOMAY and came to that area and named the town by his name "ADI TEKELEZAN" meaning the town of TEKELEZAN.The son of Lord Tekelezan SERAWIT-SEGED has born three sons and one Daughter. The three Sons were:- TEKLEHAYMANOT, FREMEKAE; HIBTAY and the doughter was named FIRET. At this time the children and grandchildren of the three sons of Tekelezan are still living in Adi-Tekelezan as GEZA-TEKLEHAYMAOT; GEZA-FREMEKAE and GEZA-HIBTAY with the other races ENDA-LAGUEN;ENDA-ZAWUL;ENDA-WEQRI;ENDA-GUREOMAY; ENDA BARGELE-LAALAY AND ENDA-BARGELE-TAHTAY together. Actually all are victims of PFDJ at this Time. ADI-TEKELEZAN is a very strategic area. ADI-TEKELEZAN was the head quarter of DISTRICT-DENBAZAN (WEREDA-DENBEZAN) before and after Italian Colony and until the military Regime of Ethiopia. The name DENBEZAN is taken from the name of the Grandfather of of all inhabitants of the District of Denbezan (Adi Tekelezan; Shimangus Tahtay, Adi-Bidel, AMETZI;Adekolom; Adi-Neamin; Adi-Hannes Deqki-Zeru Denbezan and Deki zeru Anseba, Deki-Mehare ; Deqi-Ghebru and Hayelo. After the regime of EPLF or PFDJ the district DENBEZAN is faked aand changed as or REGION-ANSABA without the wish and will of the Denbezan-People. The town was a stop on the ancient Christian pilgrimage to holy sites. The area was first inhabited by the Tigre but Tigrinya people immigrated to the region. Due to the influence of the Tigrinya speaking Tigrians gradually the official Language of DENBEZAN or ADI-TEKELEZAN is TIGRINYA. During the liberation struggle more than 20.000 youngsters were died in the brutal war against Ethiopian Colony. After the independent Now Adi Tekelezan is either head-quarter nor civilized town. It is now a ruined or Ghost town. During the Italian colony the Population of Adi-tekelezan and DENBEZAN was ALMOST EQUAL TO THE POPULATION OF THE CITY ASMARA and they were more than 40.000. But now they are less than 15.000 and less. In the 1920s the Italians constructed the Asmara-Keren highway through the town of Adi Tekelezan. Because of this, it was also a very popular rest stop and a marketplace grew up in the town. The town was also the location of the Italian effort to defend Asmara against the oncoming British forces during World War II.[1]
During the time of cooperation between the Eritrean Liberation Front (ELF) and Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF) jointly garrisoned the town but were forced to withdraw after the Soviet Union began to assist Ethiopia's war effort. After the Power of Eritrean People's Liberation Front or now People's Front for Democracy and Justice (EPLF is not the same as PFDJ/ Government) Adi Tekelezan is a Ghost town and most it's Natives are at this time deported to Barka and Gash-Setit region. The Joung Gemeration are now in SAWA or in the so called Defense-Front even-though in Eritrea to day No-War No-Peace era.
The People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) (Tigrinya: ህዝባዊ ግንባር ንደሞክራስን ፍትሕን, Həzbawi Gənbar nəDämokrasən Fətəḥən, abbreviated ህግደፍ?, Arabic: الجبهة الشعبية للديمقراطية والعدالة) is the current ruling political movement in Eritrea. Successor to the formerly Marxist-Leninist and African socialist Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF), the PFDJ holds itself open to nationalists of any political affiliation.[3] The People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) has not defined Idology. There is some debate as to whether PFDJ is a true political party or whether it is a broad governing association in transition. Eritrean National elections were set for 1995 and then postponed until 2001; it was then decided that because "20% of Eritrea's land was under TPLF occupation", elections would be postponed until the resolution of the conflict with Ethiopia. I Eritrea is today No-War No-Peace.And the People of Adi Tekelezan is the victim of the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ).
